We had lunch plans, so we made it a donut picnic. We stopped by Holtman's Donuts in West Chester to pick our snacks. Jude half pointed at a very colorful fruity pebbles donut, so that's the one he ended up with. Their donuts are fresh and local (yay, Cincinnati!). They even have vegan options.
Our teddy bear picnic was less teddy bears and more an assortment of stuffed animals. The only bear we have is Davis, Jude's birthday build-a-bear. To fill out our party, we invited May the unicorn, Pedro the penguin, and Hippy the hippo. We wrapped scarves around our necks to make it a classy affair and headed outside.
Jude was a tired little teddy bear during the picnic. There was a lot of grumping. Jude only liked the fruity pebbles on his donut, but we pushed through with our picnic. We listened to Teddy Bear's Picnic on repeat. We offered donuts to the animals and let them "eat" the donuts. We used our pleases and our thank yous. The picnic was a fun way to practice social skills and pretend play while eating delicious donuts.
