365: Hug an Australian Day

April 26 is Hug an Australian Day. We did have any Australian's handy, so we did some activities that started the conversation about Australia.
In a truly serendipitous fashion, there were an Australian collection of animal toys at the Art Museum. They had a koala, pangolin, Tasmanian devils, and a few other animals. Jude and I used wooden blocks to create homes for the animals while we talked about each of them.
Jude's favorite part was crawling through the Australian animal homes and knocking them over. I enjoyed getting to talk about Australian animals with him and learning some new facts. Like, pangolins roll themselves into a ball that is almost impenetrable to aggressors!
