365: Winter Solstice

December 21 is the Winter Solstice. Today is the shortest day of the year in terms of light. I love the Winter Solstice because it's only up from here. The days will get longer. The weather will be warmer before we know it.
To celebrate the holiday, we tried not to focus on how short the day was and stayed busy instead. Jude and I did watch the sunset together on the car ride home, but the majority of our day was spent helping Katie put together Q's new playroom. As you can see from the photographs, Q and Jude were being very helpful. It was really nice to spend today soaking up love and family.
Sometimes the days are short and the light seems so fleeting, but we can turn to the love of friends and family to keep that light shining even in the dark winter months.
