365: Pastagiving

December 7 is Pastagiving. Pastagiving is a celebration of friendship and family, good conversation, and a lot of carbs. Pastagiving originated in 2010, and it was created by my very own sister-in-law and Jude's aunt, Kelli. The holiday happens the Saturday after Thanksgiving (unless there are conflicts, like this year, and then it is the Saturday after that).
We gathered together last night for Jude's second Pastagiving. Some of our very favorite people were in attendance. A big part of Pastagiving is that all of the ingredients are brought over and then the group collectively cooks. So, we cooked, chatted, and played. Jude got to run around with his cousins and Q, and we had a great time.
There's no exact right way to celebrate Pastagiving if you're interested in having it. It's sort of like a Friendsgiving, but with more family and a lot more carbs. It's one of my favorite traditions, and I am glad that we take the time every year to be around those we love most.
