December 4 is Dice Day. Dice are is versatile for play in all ages. I am looking forward to the day when Jude is old enough to play dice table top roleplaying games like Dungeons and Dragons. He's not quite there yet, so we settled for a dice game that got us up and moving.
I bought a couple of
these dice at the Dollar Tree last month. I used one today to make a movement and counting game for Jude and his cousins. I took ideas from the twins to put on the dice and then added a few of my own. The sides were:
- one jump
- two star jumps
- three kicks
- four shakes
- five head pats
- six claps
We took turns rolling the dice and got to moving! There's endless variations that you could do with these dice, and they work well for all ages. Math, movement, counting, vocabulary would all work well!
