365: Christmas Eve

December 24 is Christmas Eve. It feels like it's a little bit of a cheater odd holiday, especially since our holiday tomorrow is Christmas. Odd Holidays are slim pickings this close to all the winter holidays.
Christmas Eve is very special in our family. On Christmas Eve, Jay, Jude, and I pack in Jay's grandmother's basement with about 40 other family members. It takes somewhere around 3 hours to open gifts. It is a chaotic spectacle of love, and it's one of my very favorite times of the year.
Jude was living his best life. After no more than 5 minutes of being "shy", Jude realized that he could run and dance around to make people smile. He spent the better part of three hours moving all around the room playing, giggling, and stealing snacks. He got to spend time with his cousins and a whole bunch of his second cousins that he doesn't ever get to see.
It's loud and glorious, and I hope that everyone gets a holiday celebration that fills them with the same joy that Christmas Eve at grandma's brought to our little family!
