365: Thrift Shop Day

August 17 is Thrift Shop Day. Thrift shopping is a great sustainable way to get fun, quirky items and help the planet a little bit. I try to thrift as often as I can!

Despite not feeling our best, we helped HahHah move in to her dorm at Xavier and then all of us hit the thrift shop together. Valley Thrift in Reading is a favorite of ours. They have great prices and eclectic items.

We tried out a few things: a spin toy that didn't spin well and a truck that we have way too many of. We ultimately ended up with a couple baskets. I like them for playroom storage and invitations to play. We also got a salad spinner. I have been looking for one for a while to do spin art. I was very excited to get it for $1.99 rather than $20-$25 new. We also got a small metal pouring pot. I'm not exactly sure what it is, but I think it will be great for imaginative play.
