365: Corn Dog Day

March 16 is Corn Dog Day. Just eating corn dogs didn't feel like enough, so we took out our trusty play tray and made a corn dog themed play tray.

I haven't attempted to use play doh with Jude until now, so I knew that it could end up being a bit of a mess. I had Jay on standby so we could quickly handle any play doh being used as food. I set out yellow and orange play doh and a wooden spatula to make the corn dog. I also premade one for Jude to play with.

Jude enjoyed watching us create the corndog with the play doh. He also enjoyed squeezing it through is hands. The more we do sensory activities, the more that Jude likes to explore texture. He did take a small taste of it, but the taste was awful (it truly is awful) so he moved on.
Jude enjoyed sitting on my lap the most and kicking the doh with his feet. I think we will wait a little longer before we introduce more play doh related activities, but it was fun nonetheless.
