365: Flag Day

June 14 is Flag Day. It is an American holiday honoring the creation of our flag by Betsy Ross.

To celebrate flag day, I took the group outside and created our own version of the American flag. I drew one big rectangle in the sand for each kid. We walked around collecting materials and then placed those materials down to make our flag.

This activity was a lot of fun for both the kids and adults, and we will definitely be doing projects of a similar concept in the future.
